Community Update: Common Area Care & Proper Yard Waste Disposal
To keep our neighborhood looking its best and to protect our natural resources, the Board would like to remind all residents of two important maintenance items:
1. Helping Hand for Common Area Spaces: If your property is adjacent to a neighborhood common area, we kindly ask for your help in maintaining the area during your regular yard work (mowing and trimming). This small effort helps keep the community looking manicured and reduces the Association's overall maintenance costs.
2. Important Notice on Yard Waste: It has been observed that grass clippings, leaves, and branches are being discarded in common areas and into Indian Creek and Salter Creek. Please be advised:
HOA Rules: Dumping debris in common areas or waterways is a violation of our governing documents.
Legal Consequences: This is also a civil infraction under Michigan State Law and the Monroe County Health Code.
Fines: Local and state authorities can issue fines ranging from $800 to $5,000 for illegal dumping and water pollution.
Please dispose of all yard waste through your regular waste management provider or via composting on your own property. Thank you for doing your part to keep Crosscreeks beautiful and compliant!
